Meet Micah

Micah Coston is a writer, reader, explorer, performer and doer. He was captivated by the words of Shakespeare from an early age, and he is eager to share that passion with his future students.

Micah plans to teach and research in the field of Shakespeare Studies, but needs your help to get there. He’s been accepted to some of the oldest and best universities in the world.

These programs require proof of finances for the entire degree (including tuition, fees and living expenses), before a visa letter is even issued. Micah created The Upstart Crow Project as a way of meeting these financial requirements and using creativity to beat the odds.

Why the Crow?

Shakespeare was called the Upstart Crow by one of his critics who was a tad more educated.

"Micah Coston is a committed student whose seriousness of purpose is coupled with a cheerfully amiable manner; he works hard and is full of intellectual curiosity. He has enormous potential as a student of Shakespeare at the highest level and may become a leader in the field."

— Dr. Martin Wiggins, Senior Fellow of The Shakespeare Institute
